HOW TO USE THIS PAGE. 1. Check the Route column first. Dentistry has more separate routes than medicine: standard five-year courses, graduate entry, gateway and foundation years, and at King's a three-year course for medical graduates only. They are different courses with different bars, and a school leaver cannot apply to a graduate entry one. 2. Find your grades, then your UCAT. Every UCAT figure is on the current scale out of 2700, and ~ marks a conversion from the old 3600 scale. 3. Each UCAT cell says underneath it what the figure is. Some schools publish what they INTERVIEWED at, others what they OFFERED at, and Cardiff, Liverpool and Manchester publish a MEAN, which is not a floor: half the people were below it. 4. The SJT column matters: Leeds and Manchester both reject bands 3 and 4, the strictest rule in UK dentistry. 5. Then open that university's own tab. Dentistry schools publish far less than medical schools do. A cell reading Unknown means the figure is not published.

Two routes need no admissions test at all: Plymouth's A205 foundation year, and King's A204 for medical graduates. Bristol's A208 gateway year is the other low-bar route, aimed at applicants who would not meet the standard offer. Applications per place is given only where the school publishes both figures. Leeds at 31.5 applications per place is the most competitive figure anywhere in this workbook, medicine included.
