High level summary

Simple summary. Excruciating detail below.

QuestionAnswer
Is there a score to clear? No. Applicants are put in order by UCAT score and the university works down the list until the interview places run out. The line moves with the field each year. Any contextual adjustment is below.
How to read the UCAT figures hereA lowest score and an average are both published. Judge yourself against the average. The lowest is one person.
What else countsGCSEs are a gate. Meeting the minimum is what counts; beating it earns nothing. The SJT band does not affect shortlisting.
The oddsOf every 100 who applied, about 88 were interviewed and about 67 were offered a place. (Scottish applicants, 2026 entry.)
Where it is decidedAt interview. Almost everyone who qualifies is interviewed, so the score gets you into the room and then stops counting. Of those interviewed, about 77 in 100 were offered a place.

THE LOWEST SCORE INTERVIEWED ANYWHERE IN THIS WORKBOOK. Aberdeen own first decile for 2026 entry starts at 1100. The 1st NATIONAL decile that year was 1580, so the whole of Aberdeen bottom band, 1100 to 1700, sits at or below the national 1st to 3rd. Aberdeen interviewed someone at 1100 out of 2700. Nothing else in this workbook comes close: the previous lowest interviewed was Aston at 1560 and the lowest OFFER was Brighton and Sussex at 1340. Aberdeen ranks rather than applying a threshold, so a low score is not an exclusion, it is simply fewer points.

Each decile carries two possible marks and Aberdeen has not said what decides which. Worth asking. The spread is the point: 57 marks separate the top decile from the bottom, so the UCAT is doing a great deal of work in the ranking. Aberdeen also confirmed it does not score GCSEs at all.

ABERDEEN INTERVIEWS BAND 4, in both cycles and in every group. 35 home applicants in 2025 and 19 in 2026, plus contextual and international in both years. Most schools in this workbook reject band 4 outright. For a student who has come out of the SJT badly, Aberdeen is one of the few places still open.

202626830

Home places fell by 11 between the two cycles while international stayed at 30. Contextual applicants have no set allocation of places. Aberdeen answered question 1 by pointing to its own published admissions data pages, which do carry the volumes, and noted that 2026 offers accepted are not final because the cycle has not fully closed.
